The new Pickering Museum Village explores the intersection of memory institutions - museum, library, gallery and archive - into an integrated, dynamic, facility which will serve as a community gathering place and gateway to the existing components.
Nestled adjacent to a ravine, the building strikes a harmonious balance between sensitivity to the natural ecology and breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape from all directions.

The design seamlessly integrates various environmentally controlled spaces around a central luminous spine with views to adjacent storm gardens. The building's sustainably sourced materials, including naturally-weathered wood and dry-stacked field stone, pay homage to the heritage buildings found in the Village.
